A Sign of Spring

Starting their 75th year with cake
There are many signs of spring in the Lodi Valley: The Okee mill pond opens up, the ferry starts running, the daffodils start peeking through the ground… and people start thinking about getting out on the lake.
This past weekend, Don’s Marine hosted their Spring Open House celebrating their 75th year in business. If attendance was any indicator, spring is definitely in the air. The store was packed with guests looking to get out on the lake in a new boat. A young couple bought their first fishing boat while a retired couple discussed the features they want on their new pontoon.
There were pulled-pork sandwiches (with a secret BBQ sauce), sodas, coffee and, of course, cake.
More than that, however, there was a sense of optimism–both about the weather and about the economy. The greater Madison area (of which Lodi is a part) is one of the most robust economies in the nation–far ahead of the average. It’s a great place to live and a great place to play.
As spring time starts to blossom, and your attention starts shifting to the outdoors, stop by and see what Lodi has to offer from fish fries to fishing boats, Lodi has great things to offer this spring!
